Tried installing chipset, ethernet, audio, video, etc.... on a fresh install of XP.
None of these will work, tried restarting, runnig form desktop, runnign form cd, nothing seems to work.

Welcome to the forum!
Have you unpacked the drivers from the appropriate directories after downloading them? For instance, your Ethernet should be in C>Drivers>Win>Ethernet.

Nice to be a member of the forum!
Downloaded the drivers directly form the IBM support site was my first step, searched via Service Tag.
I ran the .exe, followed the instructions while isntalling.
I don't currently have the computer in front of me, so i'de have to check the location tomarrow morning.
I just did the defaults pressing next as a went. (probably should have read them!)
But, if that helps let me know.
I'll post back the directory location tomarrow (12am here, i'll post at around 10am tomarrow)

It is indeed installing to that directory. (C>Drivers>Win>Ethernet.)
I don't see why it's failing to register

Followed those instructions and it works now!
The drivers dont install themselves, you have to manually do it
