T43p Buzzing fan Noise

Hi

My computer just started making a buzzing sound (30 - 50 Hz or so). When it is cold, the fan is not running and there is no noise. When it warms up, the fan starts slow and noise is faint. After it runs for ten minutes or so, the fan speeds up and the noise is quite loud.

I noticed sevaral fan noise problems apparently associated with BIOS upgrades, but I have the latest BIOS etc.

This just started a day or so ago, and I suspect mechanical problems with the fan. Does that make sense, how do I replace the fan and where can I get one?

Re: T43p Buzzing fan Noise

Cleaning the fan with compressed air would be a good first step...

To be able to determine which type of fan you should be looking for if the cleaning doesn't resolve the issue, please post the 7-character model number of your T43.

Cheers,

George
