I have a Lenovo T60 laptop and the battery i just bought for it charges and the laptop can run on it or AC but the system does not see that the battery is installed. In the battery manager it will see the battery briefly if i plug the battery in then says theres an error. If i try to do a reset of the battery it doesn't see the AC adapter plugged in. I don't know what to do to fix this

ok.
i need to go find it again, but i read a post tonight, either here or on another thinkpad forum i haunt, reporting that the newest power manager won't recognize/charge non-oem batteries. the workaround was to uninstall power manager and then windows just handles it. btw... what version of windows are you running?

That's a defective battery. Return it before your charging circuits gets damaged.

Had similar problem with T61 and newest version of Power Manager. What is Lenovo up to. Uninstalled Power Manager and it started charging.

If the battery is blinking orange when the machine is off and the adapter plugged in, that's a bad battery or a damaged charging circuit. Period.
