I'm experiencing exactly the same.
I have a LENOVO T60 type 2007-CTO running XP Professional SP2.
Windows did not recognized the existance of a bluetooth device at first. Bluetooth icon was missing in system tray and control pannel. Device manager did not show any bluetooth hardware in the system.
I browsed LENOVO's site and found there was a firmware upgrade recommended for my model (v2.1.211.299) which I downloaded and run in my laptop. After this I downloaded Bluetooth Enhanced Data Rate software (v5.1.0.4700) and installed it. Bluetooth icon is now there in system tray as well as in control pannel but it reports that no bluetooth hardware is found. When I go to device manager it reports there is a bluetooth device running properly.
What am I missing?

adi,
I just had the same problem. Bluetooth on in all ways, but device not found. It turned out that my problem was that I had installed the driver for the bluetooth device before running the setup program. I uninstalled the program, made sure to hit cancel when the device installation dialog came up after I rebooted, then ran the installation program and everything now works.
Hope that helps.

actualy I removed the program & driver and installed only the microsoft bluetooth support file from lenovo site & it finally worked.
probably you were right about the order of the installation also. makes sense...
10x for the help

much appreciated - just found this forum which appears great place to crack problems
Anyone here knows how to best transfer outlook 2000 (including contacts/group contacts and the various files in left hand column) to MAC format ....????
I just installed 'entourage' but didn't seem help much as the .mbox files now on the Mac are not highlighted....??
(am trying Mac, for first time, after much 'persuasion' to run alongside my reliable T60 !!!)
Cheers, Peter
