T60 'Fn' key stuck-- Fn lock not enabled in BIOS

2012-05-18, 15:41 PM

I have a T60. The Fn key appears to be stuck.

I've checked the BIOS. The lock is not enabled. To be doubly sure, I've reset BIOS to defaults.

I've swapped the keyboard. The problem remains.

This problem exists at all times-- navigating BIOS, GRUB, Windows, Linux. It is independent of OS.

Anyone seen this before? Anyone solved this before?

Searching just leads to people suggesting to check if Fn lock is enabled in BIOS. I don't see any other solutions offered.

Try Fn+ScrLk( disabling numlock Key in your os plus is it not able to type on U,I,O,P,J,K,L,M,8,9 if so then it is likely to be Fn+NmLk

If it exhibits the same behavior in bios then this is most hardware based. Ie the keyboard.
