T60 Lid Position sensor location

Hi all,

I'm having issues with my T60 where closing the lid does not bring it into stand-by or hibernation.

I'm sure my settings are correct.

I too have called the Lenovo Support Team and upgraded my drivers and bios in regards with this matter.

Therefore I suspect that the sensor for the lid of the T60 may have gone awry.

However, I cannot seem to find it anywhere.

I would be so grateful if anyone would kindly enlighten me as to the location of the sensor.

Best Regards,

Anson

Re: T60 Lid Position sensor location

Welcome to the forum!

On the upper side of the machine (going from top of the keyboard towards the bottom of LCD) there should be a small ( 2mm in diameter) circle or square that you can actually press in with a pen...that's your lid switch.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

George

Re: T60 Lid Position sensor location

Hi Ajkula66,

Thank you for your reply.

I'm sorry, but I can't seem to find this 2mm circle or square lid switch at the top part of the keyboard near the bottom of the LCD screen.

My enquiry is in regards with the T60 model.

Regards,

Anson

Re: T60 Lid Position sensor location

The sensor should be built into the hinges now, in the older Thinkpads it was activated in the manner that George have described, but the T6x, R6x, X6x don't have those pusher activator any more.
