Re: T60 external Monitor non funcional with Windows 7 pro

So, Just installed Windows 7 on my T60 with intel 950 chipset and now I cannot get an external monitor to work. The computer detects it in device manager but the external screen remains blank.

Now, I realise there are lots of people that think they have faulty motherboards or that its a graphics chip fault, but I know its not...becuase If I put in my old hard drive (also with Windows 7 pro) it works fine.

I used exactly the same method on both drives:

1. instal Windows.

2. Use windows update to bring the OS up to date.

3. Download Lenovo System Update & apply all updates

Obviously the older drive (about 1 year) has been updating itself reguarly using Windows update. But thats the only difference. I also tried downloading just the chipset drivers but it makes no difference. It cant be a bios setting as one installation works fine.

Re: T60 external Monitor non funcional with Windows 7 pro

I think perhaps your confusing the terms "graphics" and "chipset". Why graphics does your T60 have, and did you install the correct graphics drivers? You'll probably find it has one of the ATI graphics and if you install the proper drivers/apps, it should work fine. The Intel chipset drivers have nothing to do with your external monitor.
