I tried hooking up an external monitor and no luck. Same results. I thought for sure it was the motherboard originally. I don't even get any error beep tones.
As a side note, after I did put the new motherboard in I got a beep code, but that was a result of putting the 1 gig memory chip in the slot where I should have had the 2 gig chip. I have a total of 3 gig. Once I swapped those around I was back to my original condition.

you should ask Ajkula66 our resident Thinkpad Guru, he knows his way around all thinkpads and probably have built over a dozen T60p from spare parts.
He should give you a definitive answer on what possible problems and resolution with your T60p.

Well, first things first: where did you get the motherboard from?
Secondly, try removing all the RAM and power the machine on. Does it beep?
Good luck and keep us posted.

Hello George and thanks for checking out this thread.
I got the replacement board from an ebayer with id of 'starpartsllc'.
IBM SYSTEM BOARD TP60/P ATI Mobility Fire GL V5250 256MB
This is a New/Original IBM Product!
If I take out both memory modules and try and start the computer I get the following beeps:
Let me know if there's anything else I should do to try and diagnose this.
Thanks again for taking the time,

OK, that board is alive, at least partially...
Download the HMM, unhook the LCD using the directions, and then hook the machine up to an external monitor.
Report the findings...

I've got some good news! (Well good if you aren't like me and bought a new motherboard when you didn't need one lol)
George had me pull out the memory and try and start the machine which resulted in an error beep sequence. So just out of curiousity, I tried only putting one memory module in at a time and trying to boot. Well it works with one of the modules but not with the other, so I guess that means the one memory module went bad.
I would have thought that would have resulted in some error tone though. I'll try and pick up another memory module tomorrow and see how that goes. I'll post back.
