I don't think t61 motherboard can take 1066 bus cpu. You want a t9300, it's your best bet for price/performance and mostly temp. I think it's 45nm so it'll be a little cooler than other options.

If your system came with a Penryn capable system board you can use upto T9500 cpu, if it has a Merom system board the fastest cpu you can use is T7800.
In order to be sure which board you have I'd need the FRU number that is usually under the ram chips on the 14" widescreen, but if your T61 has a 2007 production date then it cannot run a Penryn cpu, if it has a 2008 production date then you could have either board.
Your production date is a four digit code following your serial number displayed as YY/MM
It is however possible to use a Penryn cpu on a merom board if you use a modified bios.
