T61 Problems reinstalling windows XP pro

Hi,

I have a T61 6458 CTO and have been spending the morning trying to reinstall the factory settings with the recovery disks that Lenovo have supplied me with.  I Have selected the SATA to compatibility mode.  What happens is it gets right to the end then R&R displays a message stating that the MODULE LIST is MISSING.  Then, the computer freezes until I restart, upon which I am greeted with a BIOS menu stating that there is no bootable media in any of the drives.......

Help please, I'm not a computer expert by a long shot but am not completely ignorant either...... Please, anyone?

Thanks

Have you tried to use the Thinkvantage button instead of the recovery cds?

Re: T61 Problems reinstalling windows XP pro

Have you:

a) Wiped the HD clean prior to attemtping to install the OS?

b) Set the media drive as a primary booting device in BIOS?

Cheers,

George
