T61 RAM upgrade- boot issue

2014-05-23, 3:17 AM

I have recently bought 2 GB RAM (DDR2 667 MHz) from Ebay to upgrade my T61 7658-CTO laptop from 2 GB to 3 GB. I replaced one of the originial RAM stick (of 1 GB) with newly bought 2 GB RAM. After that all the attempts to boot the laptop failed. I tried to swap the stick in two slots, but did not work.

Please let me know if someone could advise on this. I am pretty sure that I've bought the correct RAM stick. My OS is Windows 7 ultimate, 32 bit.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum!

Sounds to me like you've purchased a defective DIMM that should be returned to the seller.

Good luck.
