I have a Lenovo t61p. I turned off my machine one night and tried to switch backup the next morning..and nothing. All I hear(d) is two short beeps one long beep and the system wont bootup. Added to my luck my warranty ran out too since I bought this system in Nov-2007. I am not sure what to do right now, cant afford another machine since I already pooled $1700 for this one and not sure what the path ahead is? Any one out here who managed to solve this problem?? I heard a lot of it has to do with the faulty GPU thats soldered to the motherboard...any luck solving this problem?

try to purchase the post warranty service agreement and use that to get the laptop serviced.
P.S. provided this problem is not caused by you dropping the laptop or spilling liquids on it.

hi i think i asked in another post as well but where would i go to get more information about a post warrenty service agreement and also
i found a temporary fix where i turned the computer on, put it on top of a pillow (basically i was trying to overheat the system) turned the computer off, turned it on again after it had cooled back down and it worked! I'm not sure how long it'll work for but I was able to at least save all of my work so hopefully it's a helpful temporary solution.
