T61P - dual monitor with docking station (laptop lcd monitor) and one external monitor

2009-01-28, 23:39 PM

Hi,

I'm trying to setup dual monitor for my lenovo T61P laptop. I want to use one external monitor which is connected to my Thinkpad docking station and the laptop lcd monitor. I'm using windows vista x64. Does any one else have it setup this way?

When I connect the laptop to the docking station, only the external  monitor displays data. I've tried going into desktop settings to extend my desktop but only one monitor is present.

Please help. I've spent an entire two days playing with BIOS settings, searching forums....

This started working fine when I installed the video drivers below:

Display (NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M / Quadro FX 570M) driver for Windows Vista 64-bit - ThinkPad
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-67939

It looks like I had installed the wrong video drivers (32-bit)  previously. Now fn+F7 works fine and I am able to extend my desktop to mulple monitors (dual-monitor).
