My computer had this problem two nights ago and I found this useful thread here. After talking to a CSR knows this MIGR-75087, I was really dissapointed that my computer is not covered in this agreement though I met all three other requirements, but the forth one is:
4. The system must be no more than 6 months beyond the warranty expiration date as shown in PEW.
I only had one year warranty and it expired in 2008. Is there any other way to fix it without spending $600 to send to sevice depot? I knew heating the computer does not last long. Any suggestion?
Thank you guys for those helpful tips posted here.

Others that have been well past 6 months expiration have been successful as you can see by reading back a few posts on this Forum. Call again and again be persistent and also send a PM to Mark Lenovo.
Use the 'ol noggin. ![]()

Also, as you go back and find the the posters that had succuss way past warranty, send them PMs for details and reference them while on the phone with CS.

Hi Mark
i have sent by laptop for repair under service request for Lenovo - P4ST9JH. in Oct 2010.
however, two days ago, the problem with "one long beep , two short beep " has come back again.
IF the motherboard is to be change again, i doubt it will be a permanent fix. Any idea if Lenovo can give a promotion for us with this problem to upgrade ?
Are you saying that the Oct 2010 issue repaired was for "one long beep , two short beeps" at power-up?
And now it is doing "one long beep, two short beeps" again at power-up?
If so, this is new breaking news and possibly a serious new issue.
Let us all hope and pray the Lenovo contract repair center simply made a defective repair (a human error) in October 2010 rather than the "new fix" that the the mysterious non-public Lenovo MIGR-75087 describes is not a case of a corporation taking the concept of "planned obsolesence" a bit too far. ![]()

I truly hope this was only an isolated incident and more "fixed" units do not begin failing again.
Otherwise, Lenovo will unfortunately find themselves in a similar position as Toyota was in 2010.
