@Vipul, you're happy to be able to do it anyway. Here in Poland I'm not even considering sending my machine to the US anymore. It's not just solely the matter of the shipping costs - it's the import tax I'd have to pay that prevents me from doing so.

I'll second tyranos, together with a lot of other former Thinkpad owners, on saying: Lenovo Poland - no, never again. The problem is, how can I stick with the company but not the type of service? I'm just about to switch over to something else - browsing what's on offer.

My first post here....I call IBM support today for my problem with the black screen on my T61P. The first shoot was a failure....they told me that the policy had expired and give me a MIGR-41486 which I was not able find.
I called again and after the CS person collected all my info and told me that my laptop is out of warranty....mine is 6460 07/09 then I told him about the MIGR-75087 and he goes on to talk to his supervisor and put me on hold for about 5 mins then told me that a box is on it's way........

You should contact your shipping company as, though I don't claim to know how import duties work in Poland, in the UK you do not have to pay duties for your own goods - the trick is to make sure you label the items correctly on the shipping manifest (especially if you are assigning an insurance value).  Alternatively your equivalent to our customs and excise should be able to help.

These are expensive machines and should last many years so it seems a terrible waste to not get yours fixed if Lenovo in North America are prepared to help.

As for Lenovo again? I agree - never again and that includes my customers so, for the sake of fixing my one machine they have lost several hundred sales a year just through me.

by my t61p is the second board not working. In 2008 my first board was changed. Because the notebooks shuts down by 3d programs after 3 min. Since this time the second board runs fine. But 2 days a go by the start of the notebook, i hear the error code long short short and saw the black screen. In my opion the service of IBM was much better.

In Germany the supports wont change the board. Because the notebooks ist out of the warranty and out of 6 month limit. 2 month the old is the notebook. I thougth the problem was fixed by the first change of the board. Is it possible the they have plugged in an board with an defect nvidia chip? I thougth 2008 the chips of nvidia was change by reason of that problem.

Are the customers of thinkpads dont care lenovo? I dont understand why the boards in Canada and USA will changed but no elsewhere. If i change the board, i have to pay more than 780€, only for the board, that is to much. So i looking for a new notebook, but no model that was build by lenovo.

It looks also impossible to buy a new warranty for the repair of the board.

Think that the new fixed Nvidia chips were not used for repairs unit very late in 2008 or early 2009 ..... By then, every company started to point fingers at Nvidia who finally admitted to building "a few" defective graphic chips in 2007 and early 2008..

Hi Mark_Lenovo,

My T61 started exhibiting this problem (1 long and 2 short beep and black screen) last night. I just called Lenovo support in Atlanta and I told them about my problem and my warranty just expired 2/19/2011. I repeatedly mentioned the internal document MIGR-75087 and the cs rep didn't seem to look it up and just turned me away saying nothing can be done since I am out of warranty. Can you help me out?

Update: I tried calling again and the cs rep said she only has 2 minutes to stay on the line with me because I was out of warranty.
