T61p won't turn on

I have a T61p and it will not power on.  I tried removing the battery and the power adapter and it still won't work.  Thanks

Re: T61p won't turn on

Try the following:

Unplug the adapter, remove the battery, hard and media drives. Press the "power" button ten times in a row, holding it down for ten seconds each time and thirty seconds the last time around.

Plug the adapter (but nothing else) back and try to power on.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Cheers,

George

Re: T61p won't turn on

Thanks.  It looks like it works now Smiley Happy

I also called Lenovo and they wanted me to pay $575 to replace the planar.  Good thing I held off from sending my laptop in.  Smiley Very Happy

Re: T61p won't turn on

Please be advised that your machine may still have an underlying hardware issue somewhere. I'd run all PC Doctor for DOS tests on it, just to see whether they catch anything...

Glad that the old trick has gotten your T61p off the ground, best of luck with it and keep us posted.

Cheers,

George

Re: T61p won't turn on

I have had the exact same problem twice now.  And each time, I called Lenovo, and each time they told me to press the power button 10 times, etc., etc.  And each time, that solution worked.
