Temp monitoring

I looked around the forum for info about temp monitoring programs but found

nothing specific to the T-42.

Do any of you know of a good, stable program to monitor my CPU and maybe

the GPU too? Something simple for a simple minded guy!

I never hear my fan speed up or down and I'm  wondering if the CPU is getting

too hot.

Thanks, Robert

Re: Temp monitoring

ThinkPad Fan Control and Notebook Hardware Control are utilities that you might find interesting. Both can be downloaded from here:

If you want something really basic and simple, try  mobmeter :

http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/MobileMeter-Download-24748.html

None of these are "T42 specific" but all work well with T42.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

George

Re: Temp monitoring

Thanks for the quick reply.

I downloaded TPFan Control and tried it out. It works pretty darn good after

I fiddled with it for awhile. The temps it initially reported were about 10 degrees

high but I figured out how to compensate for that.

I chose to run it in manual mood to keep it simple and maintain control over

the program. Less things running in the background is always better.

I still don't understand how to get it to show the temps in Fahrenheit instead of

celcius.

Thanks again....

Re: Temp monitoring

Not all versions of TPFC have Celsius/Fahrenheit option. Which one have you downloaded?

Re: Temp monitoring

I downloaded the following file: tpfc_v050.zip.

I guess that's version 050???

Thanks again.
