@AndrewTo, what do you want to know? whether you still have warranty or whether your laptop supports T9xxx Penryn cpu?
P.S. T61 is already 4 generation old.

yep, I desperately want to know if my system is compartible with Penryn, for cooler n prolly longer battery life.
T61 is too old I know, but itz also an excellent machine dat no one wud want to abandon it (except for itz weight n battery life)
Also wud like to confirm dat 7663 can run modified BIOS 2.27-1.08 to unleash SATA2 (http://forum.notebookreview.com/lenovo-ibm/459591-
thank u very much!

thank u very much!! sorry abt off topic
I'm running official 2.27, cud u plz advice a way to flash the non-official BIOS(also 2.27 if I'm not mistaken) bypassing version check, or downgrading to previous ver?
"flash2.exe /u" dis command not working, it says:
"Checking files and environment... done.
Error during flash. Error code = 99 (179)
!!!Updating your bios while Microsoft BitLocker drive encryption is enabled will cause subsequent boots of the encrypted drive to fail. if you are using BitLocker, plz refer to BitLocker help for info on how to temporarily disable it b4 updating ur bios!!!"
prob is, non of my drives r enabled BitLocker (Control Panel > Security> BitLocker)
or maybe wait for newer version to be released(Middlton mentioned in 4thMay2011 dat he will not)
again, the links of lenovo(parts checkup, warranty checkup) cannot recognize my SN, "* 07/09" printed beneath my laptop(I hv no prob on reading it as the lable is intact), I tried many combinations (with or without hyphen, with or without spacing, with or without 07/09, capital letters etc)
in Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox:
BIOS: 7LETC7WW (2.27)
Warranty: Could not be determined

If your serial number label is hard to read, try this software method suggested by goretsky:
Hope this helps!
