Thinkpad T440s specific drivers

2019-09-20, 13:42 PM

Hi to all.

I am new here and need some help/info.

I have had a T440s, (20AQ0069GE, i7-4600U, 8GB, Samsung 840 EVO 500GB) since 2013 without any major problems.

It survived all upgrades from Win7->Win8.1->Win10 all versions up to 1809 without damage.

BIOS 2.52 slowed it down somewhat, but still OK.

But Windows 10 1903 made is so lame so as to be virtually useless.

None of the several other desktops and laptops which I have upgraded to 1903 were slowed down noticably.

So I decided to set my T440s up from scratch, which I reckon will take about 10 days.

As a test, I cloned my desktop (still on Win 10 1809) onto a SSD and it ran fine on my T440s. Not very fast, but ok, probably due to the 2.52 BIOS.

But of course none of the Function Keys, specific to the T440s worked, since my desktop is totally different hardware.

Before I actually start installing Win 10 AND all the application SW, I would like to be sure that in the end all the T440s funtions will work..

There is a lot of bloatware which came with the original machine, which I never used and can do without.

I am sure many of you have been in the same situation.

So my question is:

Which Lenovo drivers do I need to make all the T440s peripherals (Function Keys, card reader (?), what else ?) work under Windows 10?

Where do I get them?

Thanks for your help.

PS. Answers in English, German or Dutch are welcome.

Welcome to the forums.

To get drivers you can go to support site.  See below.  You can also download Lenovo Vantage from MS Store.  It will automatically look for drivers for you.  You can choose what to/what not to install.  For hot key specifically you will need hotkey drivers which are at the below site.
