Windows 7 64bits

There are troubles with Intel Turbo Memory driver in Windows 7 64bits Professional SP1.

After installed Intel Turbo Memory driver, built in “Windows Update” doesn’t works with error message

“The Windows Update now can't fulfill search of updates as (because) this service isn't launched. Probably, computer is required to reboot” (Message is translated from Russian, maybe not exactly),

and “Microsoft Security Essentials” doesn’t works with error message

“Error message 0xc8000247 , Microsoft Security Essentials Program didn't installed updates of determinations of viruses and spy programs because the Internet or connection to a network is malfunctioned” (Message is translated from Russian, maybe not exactly).

I did clean installation of Windows 7 64bits Professional SP1 on this notebook.

Then I did activation Windows 7 64bits with original Microsoft product key.

Then I did all updates Windows 7 64bits step by step with built in “Windows Update”.

After each step (there were some steps of updates) of Windows Update I did fulfilled check built in “Windows Update”. Built in “Windows Update” did worked correctly.

Then I did installation “Microsoft Security Essentials” and I did updated bases of “Microsoft Security Essentials”.

After this installation I did fulfilled check built in “Windows Update” and “Microsoft Security Essentials”. Built in “Windows Update” and “Microsoft Security Essentials” did worked correctly.

Then I did installation Intel ChipSet Utility from Intel’s web site.

After this installation I did fulfilled check built in “Windows Update” and “Microsoft Security Essentials”. Built in “Windows Update” and “Microsoft Security Essentials” did worked correctly.

Then I did installation ThinkVantage System Update program from Lenovo’s web site.

After this installation I did fulfilled check built in “Windows Update” and “Microsoft Security Essentials”. Built in “Windows Update” and “Microsoft Security Essentials” did worked correctly.

Then I did updated ThinkVantage System Update program on demand of this program.

After this installation I did fulfilled check built in “Windows Update” and “Microsoft Security Essentials”. Built in “Windows Update” and “Microsoft Security Essentials” did worked correctly.

Then I did installation ONLY “Intel Turbo Memory driver”, which installation program always installed “Intel Matrix Storage Manager” together.

After this installation I did fulfilled check built in “Windows Update” and “Microsoft Security Essentials”. Built in “Windows Update” and “Microsoft Security Essentials” DIDN’T WORKED !!!

Then I did rolled away back installation (uninstalled) of “Intel Turbo Memory driver” and “Intel Matrix Storage Manager”, used System Restore Point.

After this uninstalled I did fulfilled check built in “Windows Update” and “Microsoft Security Essentials”. Built in “Windows Update” and “Microsoft Security Essentials” DID WORKED CORRECTLY !!!

I did clean installation two (2) different times with deleted and new created disk partitions (pure clean installation).

The result was identical in each case of installation !

Somebody have any suggestion about this troubles ???

Re: Windows 7 64bits Professional and Intel Turbo Memory driver (some troubles)

hey Jenyok,

could you try the same things that you did.. BUT this time before you start of, could you set in MSCONFIG and disable all start-up item so that only Windows based items are loaded during startup.

there might be software that is being loaded that is causing this issue.

Re: Windows 7 64bits Professional and Intel Turbo Memory driver (some troubles)

Try using the Intel Rapid Storage Technology package instead of the Matrix Storage one?

I think that your new 4K hard drive is the source of the problem, although you would have to switch out hard drives to be sure.  But I would not do that.  First, you will see no increase in performance now that you have 4GB of memory and are running Windows 7.  Second, turbo memory has a limited life, and even if you can get it to work, you cannot be sure that it will continue to work.  I would disable it in device manager (which is what I did with the turbo memory on my T61) and never give it a second thought.

Re: Windows 7 64bits Professional and Intel Turbo Memory driver (some troubles)

New Configuration (Not Working) Versus New Configuration (Working) (Screenshot)

leaves the Kingston memory as my next likely culprit.
