I volunteer at a homeless shelter andI need to upgrade several T42 machines that were donated to include wireless capability. I thought this would be easy, but they T42 M/T: 2373-4TU
When I look in the FRU call out list for the Wireless MPCI cards here:
I do not see any listings for the 2373-4Tx series (14" display).
Do I need new glasses, or do I need to go the PCMCIA card route?

so you want the FRU for the wireless card or something?

Sorry, yes ...
Multiple FRUs are listed in the parts breakout, but none of them are marked as being compatible with the 2373-4TU machine type.
I am wondering if this was an oversight and that some (all) will work, or if for some odd reason none of them are compatible with the 2373-4TU

make sure the one you get is from actual thinkpad, otherwise the thinkpad will chuck an error.

Thanks for your help my FRU 39T0355 Mini-PCI card came, I installed it and loaded the latest drivers.
Initially it had issues handshaking with the network, a 2nd reboot and it all seems to be locked in and loaded.
I have just been given a 2nd one of these (that DOES run from battery )
I have read other places that the 39T0355 is the best choice for the T4x machines would you agree?

i am not a real expert on wireless card. Maybe you should ask Ajkula66 or Erik (mod).
