about 4 years ago my husband picked me up a ibm thinkpad t20 at a truckstop while on a run. he has boughten me a new laptop, but i would like to give my old one away. but before i do that i would like to do a factory restore to wipe out my info. can anyone tell me how?? i do not have any discs . my operating sysyem on it is windows xp
if you still have the original hard drive, it might stil lhave the IBM service partition. TO access it, press F11 while restarting, or the blue thinkvantage button if your laptop has it (If it starts loading windows, then something is wrong).
It will bring you to a screen asking you how you would like to restore your computer. From there just follow the instructions and you'll be as good as new in no time.
