We have three (new July, 2011) L512 ThinkPads, Windows 7, 64 bit and all 3 get "Error 1935...." when offered the bluetooth update from Windows Update. I trashed the OS on one trying to follow the "recomended fix". Windows Update continues to offer the same bluetooth update but I have not tried again since Sept.
The internal bluetooth functions normaly with a mouse.
Is there a good fix forthcomming?

Hi, please help!
I have a ThinkPad Edge 13 (0217-3CG) and I receive the same message when I try install the update from Windows Update. This is the message from the Event Log:
Product: ThinkPad Bluetooth with Enhanced Data Rate Software -- Error 1935.An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'policy.8.0.Microsoft.VC80.ATL,type="win32-policy"
Any new suggestions on what to do?

Its a very irritating error, i also faced this error many times but i fixed it.
Following are the various ways you can implement to fix error 1935
1. Reinstall Microsoft .NET Framework
2. Perform a Full Virus Scan
3. Full Scan your Registry
4. Reregister Windows Installer
5. Check System Files for Corruption
6. Clean the System Junk
The Error 1935 in Windows 7 may still occur if your registry is not properly configured.
If you have already been experiencing the error 1935 error, you can also get some help from this article error 1935 windows 7.
Hope it fix your problem.

I have a X120e Thinkpad and I also have lost my bluetooth capabilities and when I tried to install the microsoft bluetooth 3.0 update I got the error 1935 message. My Lenovo is just over a year old and I had to call IBM for support and the tech guy never heard of error 1935 which is strange because it is so prevalent. I was told that my warranty was no longer in effect so they could not give me any information and when I asked to speak to a manager (repeatedly) I was told (no that was not possible). That seems outrageous that a low level employee of a major corporation can refuse to get a manager or supervisor. My conclusion is that I will not buy another one of their products!!!
