oil holes on bottom of t61

Can someone tell me what the little oil holes are on the bottom of my t61 thinkpad? What kind of oil do you put there and what is it for.

I can find no documentation on this.

Thanks.

Re: oil holes on bottom of t61

They are not "oil holes"!

The holes are drains for the spill tray that is underneath the keyboard, to keep accidental coffee (etc) spills away from the electronics.

Cheers,

Bill

Re: oil holes on bottom of t61

How interesting! I always thought they looked like oil holes too!

Lenovo might want to come up with a new symbol for those holes, or someone might actually squirt some oil in there!

Everyone know's that you must keep your computer's oil level at it's proper level. I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me where the dipstick is so I can check mine!!Smiley Very Happy

I'm thinking that it's between the upper right hand side of the left giffling near the oh Jesus clip that's attached to the kanooter valve!!Smiley Very Happy
