question about the serial to ata converter

Hello,

The HD on my T42 went dead and I am looking to replace with a new one.  The 2.5" PATA RPM drives are hard to find and are expensive if found one.  I was wondering if there are any SATA to ATA converters that I could use with my laptop considering the space constraint?

Thanks,

Ironman

Re: question about the serial to ata converter

This kind of adapter is available but for desktops. I doubt if you can find a small one which would fit into hdd bay

Re: question about the serial to ata converter

Thanks for your replies.  I went through the newegg list before, they don't carry one with 7200 RPM, 5400 RPM will be a downgrade for me.  Also, I want to use a SATA drive because they are easily available.  Looks like there are no converters that fit into the laptop, I will have to stick with a PATA drive.
