t61p dual monitor with docking station, maximum resolution

I wonder what is the maximal resolution one can get with the quadro fx 570m. I specially want to reach the 2560x1600+2560x1600 with two 30'' monitors. Does anyone know about it or have experience with it?

the dvi out on the dock can support WQXGA, but i am not sure whether the VGA out can support this resolution.

You will need the huge docking station with Dual-Display Port & DVI. Then it should work, but you will only be able to use 2 displays at once (one external+laptop LCD or 2 external). But I think you already know that.

VGA on such resolution would be suicidal and i doubt it would even work.

T61p's dock don't have dual DP & DVI. The dock 3 plus that you are talking about is for T400s, T410, T510, W510, T410s.

The OP can use an advanced dock and add a new graphics card into pci-express slot to get up to 4 monitors support.

I apologize for bringing this thread back from the dead but I have a related question:

- If I use a docking station (type 2504) with a single VGA/DVI port, can I use 2 external displays at once (VGA port on T61p + VGA/DVI port on dock)?

when you dock the vga port on the laptop will be deactivated, you would have to use the vga + dvi port on the dock.

so you can have 3 displays of 1920 x 1200 on a t61p with 570m with dock 2504? My wuxga laptop display and 1 wuxga connected to dock's vga and 1 wuxga connected to the dvi? Thanks

No,

For the Advaced mini-dock, if you use 2 external monitors, it will disable the screen. You can use the Advanced dock with an additional video card in it to get more monitors.

Funny, 5 years ago this was all very advanced configuration, now it appears so dated.

the ridiculous part is the new ivy bridge with hd4000 says it supports 3 monitors which it kind of does but you need to daisy chain the displayport and I don't know of any monitors that support daisy chaining via displayport.
