Not yet but that (and better backup/restore) are my priorities right now :smileywink:

Re: [App] Quill - handwritten notes (v7)

Open Question:

When I write (palm on  screen) without a glove, thereby enabling capacitive input, my tablet misses strokes pretty often. Especially when I bring down the pen the first time. Capacitive Input is ignored by Quill but it seems to have an effect.

When wearing a glove (just digitizer input) there are no dropped inputs at all.

Having read the source code, i dont think, that this is a Quill specific problem. Maybe the built in palm rejection messes up?

Do some of you experience a similar thing?

I notice dropped lines when my palm is on the screen, but I do not have a glove to do a control test.

thx for your reply, you can also use a napkin or sth else. Just put your palm on something that prevents your hand from touching the screen while writing.

Have you enabled 'pen input mode' in settings? This is one of the great features that separates Quill from the competition and dramatically improves writing ability.

@Volker1

Thx a lot again for the new version.

My old problem is solved and I am looking forward for the better backup/restore options in further versions.

Again, how to thank you for all the work on this great Prg?

@rat-c

For me it seemed the android bar disturbing my pen writing.

And this is active in every app.

And thank you for the new backgrounds and the calenderday.

I am quite busy atm, if not i would try to think about what else could be very usefull..

Dont know if a weekly or monthly background would be good because you can zoom in, write small and keep the topics in bold letters for an overview but properly there are a lot of usefull backgrounds, best you prepare them cause you need them..

I agree that the Android footer action bar is annoying for pen based use. Unfortunately there's no way around it - Honeycomb requires it to be always visible and can only be removed through custom actions on a rooted device.

If writing towards the bottom of the page I find it best to 'gesture move' the page up the device so I'm still writing near the top of the hardware.

I do notice that there's a band somewhere in the middle that doesn't seem to register pen strokes accurately - I saw someone note something similar in another thread so likely an anomoly of the device.

"band in the middle"

Yes, I posted a picture of the problem.

This "band" seems not to be there when you lift your palm from the android bar.

Sry, no time to write more.

If you see a good solution please post in the thread linked in my signature.

Imo disabeling touch totally ("hardware") while writing could do it...
