Camera Sensor OV8858 and OV2740 driver problem - Thinkpad X1 tablet 2nd gen

Since a while I have the camera LED on, but the camera's are not accessible on my Thinkpad X1 Tablet 2nd generation.

In the device manager 2 drivers are giving a problem:
Camera Sensor OV8858
Camera Sensor OV2740

When I try to update it states the latest driver is installed.

When I uninstall and restart, same message comes back. Driver not correct.

I have downloaded and installed the drivers again from the Lenovo support website (Intel SkyCam driver v 30.15063.4659.2/30.15063.10991.4659 - date 29 August 2017), does not help.

What can I do ??

Re: Camera Sensor OV8858 and OV2740 driver problem - Thinkpad X1 tablet 2nd gen

Dear customer,

There is a similar X1 Tablet 2nd Camera issue reported on another forum topic.

While investigating that issue, development team found the issue can be avoided by rolling back the Intel Video driver to v22.20.16.4836 ( refer to below link)

https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/n1odt19w.exe

I'd like customer to try this graphics driver

Re: Camera Sensor OV8858 and OV2740 driver problem - Thinkpad X1 tablet 2nd gen

I am experiencing a very similar problem.  I am unable to get OV8858 to initialize.  It says this device cannot start power failure.  Occasionally on reboot it will work but eventually the front facing camera fails.

Dear customers,

the latest Intel Gfx driver v23.20.16.4973 is uploaded to the Lenovo web site.
I hope this issue will be disappeared with this Video driver.

Re: Camera Sensor OV8858 and OV2740 driver problem - Thinkpad X1 tablet 2nd gen

I am having the same issue with OV8858 not starting but with the X1 Tablet 20GG 1st Gen, will the graphics driver be updated for that platform as well?  Rolling back to older drivers is not correcting the situation.

Thanks.
