Fan Error

Hi,

 

i have a lenovo thinkpad helix 3xxx but it keeps on giving me a fan error with 2 beeps. I have cleaned it and  its still doing it. (any ideas

Hi there 18099,

 

Most short double beeps on startup is called a POST error. (Power On Self Test  Error).  Most often then not it is due to faulty memory. Try to unplug the memory modules if possible. Test one and one module in the sockets and try to perform a bootup of the device. 

 

If the device will not boot up with any of the memory modules, we are looking at either both motherboard sockets being faulty or the memory modules themselves. Most likely the modules.

If the memory works in 1 slot, but not the other, then we are looking at a DIMM socket problem on the motherboard.
