any German speakers want to summarize?

General summary

Positive

  • S-Note is a nice round application combining on screen writing, formula recognition, geometric figures recognition as well handwriting recognition

Neutral aka 1:1 to TPT

  • the handwriting has to be "nice" in order to be fairly recognized, meaning one has to force itself to write like in the first class elementary school - not very common in practice

Negative

  • During the whole video there was not a single moment to see how and if the palm rejection is working - the presenter was keeping his palm away from screen
  • In order to edit PDF's with S-Note app, the PDF has to be imported to S-Note (proprietary?) format. After the export to PDF and import of the same file again, the previous made PDF annotation cannot be further edited
  • Handwriting outside of S-Note, i.e. in MS Word document from Polar Office is not supported - meaning again being forced to use existing Android apps like MyStylus Mobile as in TPT with more or less mediocre recognition abilities

My personal conclusion

  • Palm rejection is still a mystery
  • The pen features are more advanced compared to TPT1 but more evolutionary
  • Screen split, even a limited, is really a productivity gain
  • Handwriting recognition is "fair" but seems to me that MS Windows 8 handwriting recognition will be still far more superior, especially with the possibility to write anywhere via virtual handwrite keyboard and with the possibility to train the recognition to one's own handwriting.

Thanks!!!

I'm not one for handwriting recognition just yet, was pretty poor on the TPT (Notes Mobile is too slow) so I don't care for it.  Still waiting then for the palm rejection issue.

Made up my mind I'm gonna buy this thing in one month's time and ditch the NOLOVE tablet (which pisses me off more with each day we don't get OTA 3.5).

If anything, it will be as good as the TPT, but faster.  I have high hopes it will be much better.

Found a summary:

For those who don't speak German:
- Really good palm rejection, probably the best seen on a tablet
- Very high accuracy digitizer
- OCR works rather well, even for very small/cursive fonts
- pdf files can be imported/exported into S-Note (although can take some time, ~300 pages in example)
- wikipedia opens normally, as it would on pc
- Formula OCR works ok, but has some trouble with capital letters
- the smallest ink size appears to be a couple of pixels thick. Not great, but still very usable. Other apps might do better.
- pdf reading interface in s-note is slightly complicated - problems with scrolling, choosing page numbers
- can print from s-note directly to compatible printer

A couple of other apps:
- ezpdf also works ok and is faster, but not optimized for s-pen
- polaris office - as usual, nothing new (not many dedicated s-pen functions).

S-Note looks interesting, would it be possible to port it to TPT?
