Re: How do I get helpful support for the X1 prodictivity module

2016-09-07, 0:10 AM

Thanks. I was about to start another thread on how to roll back the bios 1.55, which I believe is not possible.

I still have the same issue, keyboard stops working after a few min attached to the productivity module and the same for the USB port on the module. Keyboard works fine without the module.

I am sorry to reply but my productivity module is working perfectly - I have updated my bios to the latest "cool" update patch which would be 1.55 - My productivity module when installed - the OS reads them as 2 separate batteries:

It discharges only until 6% percent and it is labeled as battery 2 - it would then switch to battery 1 and keep discharging. No disconnects or any sudden drops as far as bluetooth or the keyboard.

I do recall someone said that it was their whole system board that had to be replaced in order for the productivity module to work. I am not sure who it was.

I must also add - that I did have my whole system board replaced due to a faulty wireless adapter that kept turning itself on/off and then dissapeard all from the device manager altogether, quite fustrating - I am currently up to date with all my patches, but I am missing the windows anniversary update - but I dont think this has anything to do with it, but it is worth mentioning. My productivity module has been working perfectly since I had it.

Have you tried returning it? I mean all accessories have a 1 year warranty right? and I am going to assume this is not even your 1st month with it - try returning it.

I was very reluctant to do so, but if its been less than a month - I highly suggest getting a rep to ship you a box and return either the module, or the tablet itself for inspection. Sometimes its beyond our hands, like patch updates or drivers - and its a technical malfunction - like in my case, a faulty wireless driver.

I wish you the best man, we are all in this together, keep me posted.

Now this piece of junk has stopped working completely. None of the port works and the tablet does not recognize the second battery at all.

Now all I need is a support agent that actually understands me......

Well, I still dont have a working productivity module.

I finally reached a support person a few months back that understood the problem. Great! He opened a case and promised me to send a replacement module. Got a service case number etc. OK, I wait. 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, nothing. Call them again, they say its processing, part not available, be patient, we will contact you and let you know when the module has shipped. That was over 2 months ago. Since then, not a word. Nothing. Tried to call, but gave up after 20 min on hold. I guess I can just accept the fact that I paid $150 for nothing.

Yeah unfortunately they take a LONG TIME to get stuff done. I know, I ordered a stack professional kit and it told me it would ship in 2 months - thankfully that time got cut to 3 weeks.

If it has been more than 2 months you better be on that phone as long it takes - that is just horrible man. Is there a mod that can perhaps help this man out? Try posting your case number here and some relevant info - maybe some mod can look into it

I really stopped caring. My company bought tens of thousands of dollars worth of Lenovo laptops over the past decade. I will stop that and we will change supplier. Lenovo does not deserve my business.

Update: out of the blue, I get an email for my case number telling me that there is no manual for my replacement shipment. What? What shipment? Funny thing is i didn't get any shipment......
