Quattro does not have a full size USB so its not comparable

Quattro does not have anything really, as it will only start selling next March. TPT is a product that is available for quite some time now.

IMO right now the only more or less real Android-running alternative to TPT is HTC Jetsteam, and I wouldn't trade TPT for that despite TPT's many many issues. Of course, Lenovo could have made it a lot better easily by, for example, having less bloatware, or permitting hiding the on-screen buttons / blocking the physical buttons, providing pen-only mode, better support, faster updates, and, of course, supplying dock with all tablets for free instead of the hardly functional wallwart, but it's still one of the most usable Android tablets today.

All,

I believe that our current course will be to go directly to Android 4.0 (ICS) on this product and I believe that will still be a few months away.   Hopefully I'll have some official words to give on that soon.

In the meantime, we are continuing to work on interim OTA updates to address issues raised by the community.

Hang in there

Mark

Mark - thanks for the update.  If I know ICS is coming in "a few months" I can live with that, especially if you release 3.2!  Thanks for the update.

An actual confirmation on ICS!

This is music to our ears. Thank you Mark! We look forward to hearing more (hopefully sooner, rather than later :smileytongue: )

Indeed, JaneL speaks truth. While 3.2 offers some improvements overall to Honeycomb in general it would be a waste of Lenovo's time, money and energy to make a 3.2 build for our device. We would see little to no improvement.

On the other hand, Android 4.0 (ICS) offers substantial improvements on many fronts. Mainly including HAL, native digitizer support and most certainly security improvements and compatability. I'm very excited by this notion of our TPT's running ICS!

Although it could be considered selfish of me, please Lenovo, I ask and beg to allow your user base to have a Vanilla as possibly ICS build. Please don't include custom icons, etc. It takes away from vital UI intuitiveness that Google already spent many hours and money working to polish. At least include an option to remove any non-stock options, pretty please. Also, abandon the app wheel, it's annoying and very much so a nuisance. That is all. Thanks.
