sadly mine is starting to feel funny too. just waiting to finally open that thing up :-p

Don't wait too long.  If it's feeling mushy, it is going to break off.   It's a lot easier to fix (as I mentioned above) when the switch can simply be secured to the board, rather than having to solder it back on.

Although I was quite annoyed that the Power Button failed in the first place, my TPT was repaired and returned within one week after calling customer service.  I was quite pleased with the quick turn-around from Lenovo's Atlanta depot and I'm happy to hear the soft "click" that the button now makes whenever I press it.

I wouldn't get used to it if I were you.   Mine "clicked" for a little over 2 months then went mushy again.

... exactly the reason why I'm going to reapir the thing myself unless it has a serious error. I don't want to risk loosing root.

I think I can handle the power button and things like that very well, but I really fear the mico-USB-fail.

Hi bcampana
Do you remove all 4 buttons or just the one labelled "back"?
Cheers,
D

Just the large "back" button. There is no reason to remove all of them.   Also, remove the pen, and make sure that the tablet is powered off. (Not just in "sleep" mode.)

Re: Power button problems

My power button finally gave up today.  Been mushy for about a week.  Lenovo is sending a box Monday.  Hopefully it will be a quick turnaround.

I also asked them to look at the microUSB just to be sure it is not one of the bad ones.  Hopefully they will do it.
