Quick on the heels of mobi systems here's the reply from unidocs the developer of ezpdf reader.

"Dear Darren,

There is no transferring way to move an account from appstore to appstore.

Best regards,

Don"

Guess that's another one to add to the list!

The "sunset" of the AppShop may well be a symptom of the larger issue regarding manufacturer support for the TPT.

Mark, is it a reasonable assumption on our part that Lenovo will soon withdraw support for the device?

If so, presumably that means we will no longer recieve bug fixes or security updates. In which case, can we please get an proper resolution to the unlock/root issue. Otherwise, the TPT will become yet another Android orphan.

Also, of note. On Lenovo-AU's website it still lists:

"access to Lenovo's App Shop"

as one of the features for the few tablets left they're currently running a fire sale on. Prospective customers might not be thrilled to find that the "preloaded productivity apps" on their brand-new device are immediately legacy/unsupported.

There's already a root available for the device, so...

However, I really doubt there's any businesses who they licensed this device out to, since they're backing from support for it, so I don't see why there's any reason to not unlock it and give a root out themselves.

If so, than all the apps that came with the slate will be uninstalable? Cause there are some apps that I never used and just kept them to be able to instal OTA's.

What about that?

Mark, I am not shooting at you, and I understand that you're trying to be diplomatic.... But this is the understatement of the year!!!!

Can you or someone else please clarify ASAP:

1. What happens with future updates of bundled apps?

2. When exactly will the appshop close? Today, tomorrow, ????

I really also want to know what made Lenovo keep the news to themselves for 2 weeks.... possibly more.

3. Lenovo MUST fix the issues regarding transfer of licenses from Appshop to Play. Not only the ones that stop working November 2nd. Either that, or you must reimburse users the cost of installing the apps again from Play. (Luckily, I didn't buy anything from Appshop!)

".........and appreciate you as a valued customer" It doesn't look that way!

Mark,

Does that mean that we can uninstall the Lenovo App Store application?

Will this interfere with future updates?

Let me remind Lenovo of the point made by rickinoz again. Although scrambling to remove reference to the App shop from your web site, the technical specification sheet for the device clearly reference the app shop. Removing this information from your website may show some honesty towards  new customers (if any) , however , this doesn't dissolve your legal commitment to customers who bought the device under false advertisement.
