Short of the USB issue, I'm not having any problems with my CTO.  January 15th build date.

OK, good to hear. Wonder why Lenovo don't follow their own product codes?

Any updates from the engineers on this yet? This is the only issue holding me back from ordering a TPT2.

joesixgig, don't let yourself be held back by this!

There are other reasons, too :smileylol:

It's not as frequent but even more annoying when you have this Not Waking Up Propperly

So once the USB is fixed, I'd order three TPT2. Then chances would be good that there might be one that's mostly not narcoleptic. Don't try to wake the others and send them back.

Don't try to get one after the other, unless you want to finally get a working TPT2 when others have their quantum computers in ther pockets.

Scruff, do I detect the slightest hint of sarcasm? The USB issue seems the most prevalent, so once that's resolved I'd be willing to take the plunge. I'm bit afraid of the Wifi issue as well, but at least that seems like it might be one bad batch due to bad assembly. The sleep issue should be software, so hopefully that'll be resolved soon.

Re: TPT2 has USB port power issue

I agree with  joesixgig. I'm also aware of the other issues detected, but the USB one is about the most critical (closely followed by the vga issue) and the one truly holding me back from buying it.

The whole 'revolutionary' idea of these new tablet PCs is that they should deliver all the usual laptop ports and functionalities, but in a very portable, very flat, touch sensitive, Windows 8 designed format.

"Usual laptop ports and functionalities" includes having reliable USB and VGA ports and WiFi, anytime. In my case, I need this device for meetings, presentations, on the road work, office or academical. Picture yourself in front of an audience or in a meeting and saying "... Errr... ummmm... I'm gonna have to apologize, but my tablet isn't reading the USB port" or "my tablet isn't hooking up with the video output" or "my tablet isn't hooking up with the wifi network". "Is there anyone in the audience with a fully functional laptop or similar device that could help me here?". Sum up the 10 or 15 minute delay on the schedule because of the troubleshooting. Or if it's about attending an online meeting and your tablet isn't even connecting to the network. Too bad.

The answer to these issues from Lenovo's Engineering department might take sometime while they analize and try correcting them. I'm considering getting an ElitePad instead?

Greetings to all.

Mike.

At this point I am expecting mark to come back and ask us to list the USB devices we were having difficulties with.

It rather strange through that no OEM came out with a Win8 10.1 tablet, full usb support, clamshell keyboard dock  and a digitizer.

Am I the only one in the market for this device?
