ThinkPad X1 Yoga G3 - Pen driver problem

2020-01-01, 14:10 PM
Hi, I have Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga G3; Machine Type: 20LE. I have a driver issue with Lenovo Pen. I want to disable the turtle/cursor/dot on the screen when using the pen but it never goes away. This is very irritating. When using Windows Ink Workspace / Whiteboard, or OneNote, I don't want to see any pointer on the screen. I tried various settings in Windows settings under Pen & Windows Ink but nothing works. I have also tried reinstalling the driver from Lenovo website several times. It sometimes work right, as the turtle/cursor/dot goes away when I am using the pen on Whiteboard immediately after the re-installing the driver, however when I restart the computer the pointer is there again. Any solution please..... Thanks!

Hi ,

Welcome to the Community.

Try this steps:

1 Open Settings, and click/tap on the Devices icon.

2 Click/tap on Pen & Windows Ink on the left side, and check (on - default) or uncheck (off) Show visual effects for what you want on the right side.

3 Check (on - default) or uncheck (off) Show cursor for what you want on the right side. (see screenshot below)

4 You can now close Settings if you like.

You can also check a solved case in the discussion here.

Hope this works and let us know how it goes,

Jeremy

Hi Jeremy Thanks for the reply. As I have already said in my original post 'I tried various settings in Windows settings under Pen & Windows Ink but nothing works.' I have already tried all of it. It doesn't work.

Hi Jeremy, I tried the solution in Solved Case link. I downloaded the registry and ran it. It didn't work until after a few restarts. It seems to be working as of now. Many thanks for the help! Regards
