Re: Thinkpad 10 201C - Does not detect SSID's

Has anyone found a solution to the broadcom chipset issue yet?

Same issue for me on a Thinkpad 8 for well over more than a year!

My Thinkpad 8 does not find any "WiFi networks" and Lenovo still does not know how to repair what seems obviously a software solution problem!

They would only replace my motherboard for 550 euros fee when i am sure a good driver update would solve this issue.

Re: Thinkpad 10 201C - Does not detect SSID's

An update on my T10 Wi-Fi issue.

My Thinkpad 10 with the Wi-Fi fault is most probably due to hardware issues. When I couldn't resolve the problem I purchased a second hand T10 in very good condition, moved everything across to it and it's been 100% reliable.

When I had the time I opened up the faulty T10 and it looked like the plug to the Wi-Fi chip was a bit loose. Upon reassembly the Wi-Fi worked normally for a while then the fault returned. I opened it a second time but in the end I decided it wasn't reliable enough so I purchased a usb Wi-Fi dongle. This works ok on my home network but when I took this T10 travelling the dongle Wi-Fi seemed to drop out on some networks. When I get the time I'll open this T10 up again and try to fix the internal Wi-Fi.

Attached is a photo of the T10 with the connector unplugged (lower LH side, gray cable).

Re: Thinkpad 10 201C - Does not detect SSID's

Thanks,
my "solution" was to purchase another Thinkpad 8.
Maybe it is an hardware problem but on the Thinkpad 8 the broadcom chip is integrated to the motherboard...and i doubt it is a problem with the antennas ..

Hopefully this new Thinkpad 8 won't suffer the same bug anytime soon...

Re: Thinkpad 10 201C - Does not detect SSID's

Can you verify this: when you open Device Manager and expand the System devices, there is Broadcom Serial Bus Driver over UART Bus Enumerator device that displays Error Code 10.

There is another report for Asus T100TA tablet https://mikebeach.org/2016/10/24/wifi-not-working-on-asus-t100ta/

On my Thinkpad 10 showing the "No WiFi networks found" message, when I open System devices it lists the Broadcom Serial Bus Driver over UART Bus Enumerator but there is no error message. The properties for the device shows "This device is working properly"

I assume the fault is due to a problem with the aerial connection or the aerial itself.

Same here no error 10 for for Broadcom Serial ...over UART.."
I still believe it is a software screwup and not hardware problem but i gave up trying to fix this 2 Years!!! problem on my TP8
