Hi,
Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
The Lenovo ThinkPad 8 Tablet is an 8-inch Windows 8.1 tablet. With a decent price, great design and top-notch flexibility, the Lenovo ThinkPad 8 Tablet is one of the best small Windows tablets. As of now, Lenovo has not officially revealed the exact release date of the expected ThinkPad 8.
Thanks for the interest!
Best regards,
Mithun.

I have been checking the site daily to find any new release date information. I even started a chat with a lenovo rep to get a closer idea. They said mid February. Then again, they also said that the 128G model will start at $599, so I'll take the relase date with a grain of salt anyway.

There is a large, premium electronics firm whose logo resembles a piece of fruit. When they unveil a new product it is ready to sell in the (physical) shops almost immediately, often in a majority of regions too. Not even waiting lists but actual electronics to buy from a person in a shop! Why then do I have to wait for a Thinkpad 8?
What am I supposed to do if Dell or Toshiba announce their next version available in the next month or two but with 1080 screen, Windows8.1 with Bay Trail, 64GB, LTE and TWO usb ports????

While I hope this new "Thinkpad 8" exceeds all expectations and is an awesome product, my experience with the TPT1 and now the TPT2 have taught me to not be an early adopter of Lenovo tablets. The hype for both the TPT1 and TPT2 was very positive. But both times that gave way to the emergence of numerous hardware and software problems shortly after their releases, and unresolved issues well into their support cycles. While the Lenovo mods on this forum have been consistently stellar in acknowledging and attempting to diagnose problems, the hardware and software fixes for these from Lenovo Corporate were slow in coming, or seemingly didn't come at all (the ongoing TPT2 BIOS and drivers update debacle is a current example of this).
I still think the traditional ThinkPad tablets are the cream of the crop (based on the old IBM patents). But Lenovo's mediocre hardware choices for their tablets and their underwhelming support have unfortunately dispelled my old notion that "Thinkpad always equals Quality."

As a person originally from China, I'm really happy to see Lenovo doing well especially in it's home country. But in the meantime I'm also quite disappointed after recent experience when I was looking into the yogo tablet 8.
I can clearly feel it is their flagship android tablet for consumers given the number of the promoption videos created for the product. But the videos with the features in writing are just way too fast for anyone to read without pressing pause and play all the time. Lenovo should just take time in one good video to explain all the goodies about the tablet instead of so many short videos. Also stop distracting the viewers by any characters and stories not directly related to the product. I can't care less anything about that guy being the newest engineer in Lenovo.
On top of that, the price tag for the tablet in Australia is way higher than US. There is only 16GB model available here. The webpage has it's flaws that "Expand All Configuration Items" really doesn't do anything. Accessories & Services is just next to none with ouly one sleeve. Where are the different colours and other peraphrals, where the most profit is earned. The sales representative kept telling me the specs I could all find out from website instead of listening to the customer's questions and valuable feedback. I was also given the conflict information between the sales person and the video regarding using the tablet to charge other mobile device. How do I feel after expeirnece all these things? Just like 2nd class citizen who doesn't deserve the same options, price and services which are better and more available in even the developing country.
All these tell me a lot about the company's attention to details, marketing skills, which it's not like they don't know what to do, just look at how Apple does their product release and advertisement. Most importantly just try the things you put out there for your customers. Try think as your customers. Whether you are Lenovo fan or not, what do you feel when you know such a wonderful Thinkpad 8 device is finally a reality, but you just can't get it anywhere yet and there is just no way to know when you can either. So what you do, going back to look at iPad mini, Venue 8 Pro, Surface 2 Pro, Nexus 7 ...
Good luck, Lenovo...I really like you. My wife has a great Thinkpad laptop and she loves it. Can you please make it easier for us to continue loving you or will it just be easier for us to look somewhere else?

So later this January for a release date during CES was a bunch of hype? Getting sick of waiting and need a tablet asap for work. I might have to look elsewhere. I dont get why Lenovo woudln't even at least have a preorder option or narrow down the timeframe.... its been over 4 weeks since this was announced with "Being available towards the end of January".
