noxxle,

I have followed your reports. My battery seems to drain very very quick. Ive not tested it in details. But it drains as I can see the percentage drop so fast.
Do you know how to disable ambient sensor ? I guess it helps.

Please share your experience.

I noticed that a certain process "System Interrupts" would consume an unusual amount of cpu unless I put the tablet to sleep for at least 5 seconds after a cold boot.  Open your task manager to see if anything is consuming an unusual amount of CPU.

yes, I have that "System Interrupts" too.

It consumes around 8 percent all the time, maybe 10.

It should go down to 0.1% if you sleep at least once.  Shouldn't go back up until a reset/cold boot.

I am not pleased with the battery life at all. This is my first impression.

I have to say, after driver updates, my battery life improved really really good.

Beware that Lenovo Update wont get updates correctly so you have to update the drivers manually through the Lenovo website. Check each driver info and compare it with the installed driver on your device, and update whatever is not updated yet.

Re: Thinkpad Tablet 2 - First impressions

I received the tablet less than a week ago and have a laundry list of issues/disappointments:

1) same usb issue (I didn't buy a dock because I thought I was getting full functionality)

2) touch keyboard - impossible to hit certain keys with finger (eg. 'u' and and 'j' keys in the thumb keyboard mode); can't hit the icon to bring up the touch keyboard in portrait mode.  Note that I don't have very large fingers either

3) weak wifi signal - signal is in and out at home at about 40' through one wall (my laptop and even my blackberry phone have no problem from the same location); various public wifi networks too weak to pick up

4) bluetooth - can't set to discoverable (freezes and eventually comes back with an error message); can't discover *any* devices (eg. blackberry, kensington keyboard)

I've discovered all this in I'd say less than 6 hours total use and, as such, it is going back.  For just shy of $1000 (also purchased keyboard, but that's yet to ship...) and a significant wait, I expected to have a much more polished product.  Especially from a device that's targeted to business users.

I was never able to get over 6 hours of battery life on mine. I can get 7.5 hours on my Ativ 700t and it is a Core i5 machine. Once you start using the Bluetooth keyboard with this the battery will drain even faster.
