Thinkpad X1 Tablet (2nd gen) Keyboard use question

2017-06-24, 14:03 PM

Does the keyboard of the Thinkpad X1 Tablet (2nd gen) operate while physically disconnected from the tablet?  If not, can a Logitech wireless or other brand bluetooth keyboard be used?  Thanks for your replies!

Hi TScottTX,

The X1 Tablet Gen 2 keyboard will not work unless attached to tablet, similar to the MS Surface 4. It is not a Bluetooth keyboard.

Thanks

Yes. I've had both a Logitech Keys-to-Go Windows Bluetooth Keyboard and a Wacom Bamboo Ink Stylus connected to the X1 Tablet via Bluetooth at the same time. Works well!

Neither ThinkPad X 1 Yoga (1st or 2nd gen ) has a removable keyboard.  The Helix does have a removeable keyboard.
