Upgrading to 8.1 on Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet 2 (TPT2)

Anyone else having issues updating their TPT2 from Windows 8 to 8.1?

 

I have been trying to update my TPT2 from Win8 Pro 32-bit and after the 8.1 download from the WinStore, it goes though the process of checking hardware, installation and upon reboot it just goes into a dark screen and after 60+ minutes of a dark screen nothing happens. Upon a manual forced reboot, I get a screen that says Previous version of Windows is being installed, and after 5-10 minutes Win8 boots up not 8.1. Upon Win 8 coming up I get a message "Couldn't Update to Windows 8.1" with an error code "0xC1900101 - 0x30018."

 

All drivers are up to date per Lenovo System Update. Manually checked Lenovo's site and versions are correct. BIOS version is 1.31

model is 3679-23U

 

Any suggestions? Any help? Thanks in advance......

I had a similar problem but just re-tried. Second time it upgraded flawless.

I have now Windows8.1 running. Only remaining problem seems to be a display driver issue. Not a show-stopper but annoying.

I have been trying every other day. Just now got the message, Error 80070008. My system has more than 25GB free.

Make sure you have all updates in Windows 8 before up grading to Windows 8.1.
