X1 Tablet (20JBCTO1WW) WiGig

2017-10-07, 5:13 AM

Is it supported? Can't seem to get it to connect...

Installed software & drivers

https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/HT117940

Gigabit software is on the 20JB support page

https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/tablets/thinkpad-tablet-series/thinkpad-x1-tablet-type-20jb-20jc/20jb/20jbcto1ww/r90p5x24/downloads

Thanks everyone,

I have not seen any X1 tablet in the retail market with WiGig module installed. WiGig module is solded to the mother board. I even doubt Intel did sell this WiGig module into the market.

That's strange because the WiGig is listed as an I/O on the 1st generation X1 product page.

And I have found out that my wireless adapter (8265) is in an M.2 1216 form factor, which I believe is soldered onto the MB.

The 18265 does not come in a smaller form factor.

Why is the driver available still? And it actually installs.

Lenovo provided WiGig for certain business market. Same as Thinkpad tablet 2, HMM said there is a model with fingerprint reader and I even obtained a back cover with fp hole, but in fact, none tpt2 in the market ever had a fingerprint reader and there is no fp part actually manufactured.

Wifi and bt on x1t is fixed on the motherboard. However, LET module is regular m.2.

http://psref.lenovo.com/Product/Think_Tablets_and_Convertibles/ThinkPad_X1_Tablet_2nd_Gen

some models come with "Intel Wireless Gigabit 11000, WiGig 802.11ad, soldered M.2 chip"

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 does not support WiGig.

This helped me too

This is the model I need then. Why were the options not available on the product page?
