X1 Tablet 3rd Gen Keyboard Failure

Greetings All, 

 

Am encountering a problem with my X1 Tablet 3rd Gen, keyboard suddenly not working..... Keyboard is recognised, as it switches from normal to tablet mode when connected/disconnected but keyboard has no functionality and I am resorting to using a clunky Fisher-Price USB keyboard peripheral to type this.... 

 

I've followed all of the recommendations elsewhere, all drivers, BIOS etc updated, but still no response from keyboard.

 

Machine is still under warranty but I am based in East Africa, so no authorised dealers here or easy way to get replacement. TBH, it is the latest disappointment of many with regards to this machine, which suffers from screen coating problems to underwhelming battery performance,  and after shifting to Lenovo after many years of being a Mac user, I am regretting the decision.

 

Any tips on how I might resolve this and restore some faith in this machine?
