New ThinkPad Tablet 1838 user and am frustrated with Lenovo installed 1.0 version of the Google Market app. A new computer with 3.1 android, and they use an old Market app. Current Google Market app is 3.1 (using on Google Nexus phone). This is a problem since older versions of Google Market do not use pin number at check out (anyone can buy stuff, i.e. my kids). Considering all the problems with the Lenovo app store mentioned here, I do not think that is an option.
I am hoping that someone has been able to update Google Market and it is something I overlooked. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks. Even though I cannot read Chinese, I will see if I can find it and install it.
It is amazing Lenovo does not included updated apps with new tablets. Maybe they want to force you to use their app store (junk).

Again, thanks. The qr code reading worked nicely. First time to install an app outside of the market. I did need to change settings to accept non-market app install (default is off). Also, the old Market app remains (not an update) and cannot be deleted (could if rooted, I think). Not a big problem, just happy to have the newer Market app. Thanks.

Hmmm, when I try to update the market this way, it doesn't replace the old one, it just makes a duplicate. This causes a lot of apps to force close for some reason. Any way to fix this?
