Re: issue with quicksnip app on TPT2

2013-01-23, 5:31 AM

Hey Catie and ThatsFantasic,

I've tried both reinstalling the 'Lenovo Dependency Package' and refreshing the tablet.  I'm still having the same issue.

Best,

Warren

Uncled1023, thank you for your helpful post. You are correct the TBT2 Pen does not come with the eraser, however other Compatible Wacom Digitiger Pens that do have the Eraser only work in OneNote. Here is the Microsoft Article that states the the eraser tip only works in OneNote.

This should be the Official Lenovo Wacom Digitizer Pen that has an the pressure-sensitive eraser. Please note that it will not fit in the TBT2 Pen slot.

warrenf7, Thank you for your patience throughout this troubleshooting. Maybe ThatsFantiastic will have another suggestion, however I am going to need to some more research and will get back to you.

Ill get back with you soon.

Thank you for being a part of the Lenovo Family,

Catie

So i just tried the steps you stated as well, and it isn't working for me either. running version 1.0.56.0 for QuickSnip and 1.0.5.8 for the Lenovo Settings Dependency Package, and 1.05.0010 for the Lenovo Dependency Package.

Thanks for the info. Those are the same versions others, including myself, are running with no problems, so we'll see if we can figure out what the cause might be.

I think it may be the Metro app for the Settings dependency package, because it is also saying a version mismatch, since I upgraded the desktop one, but a metro app update isn't available.

I have exactly the same issue with the screen capture not working. Although I change the quicksnip settings to 'screen capture' as soon as I exit settings it reverts back to 'nothing'.

Re: issue with quicksnip app on TPT2

That's good, as I'm having the same issue. QuickSnip's "Pen button behaviour" setting keeps changing back to Nothing after I change it to "Screen capture".

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the dependency package, which is version 1.05.0010. QuickSnip is 1.0.56.0.

After uninstalling and reinstalling both the dependency package and quicksnip and rebooting between them, I now have dependency package version 1.05.0012 and QuickSnip 1.0.56.0. It still doesn't work though.

Re: issue with quicksnip app on TPT2

Hi,

I believe there is a growlng number of people facing this issue, adding myself to the list.
Observations so far:
* all latest drivers/versions installed
* reinstalling does not help
* quick snip seems to follow the settings from the windows control panel. Changing settings within quicksnip has no effect and revert back to what is configured in control panel.
* not mentioned by others, but in my case the button always behaves as "do nothing", even if the setting is set on "right button click". The button click is seen by the tablet, I can tell by the cursor that displays the circle when I press, but it just never does anything. No right click, no quicksnip. Anyone else who notices the same behaviour?
* somehow it feels as different conflicting drivers/programs competing for the click.
* only additional sw installed on my tpt2 is office 2013.

This is a very frustrating issue, windows without a right button is no use. I know I can simulate but tap/holding, but that's a pain in one note.

Thanks for helping us out!!!

KG.

Re: issue with quicksnip app on TPT2

A Quicksnip update appeared in the store today. I updated to it but it didn't help - the same problem remained.

I uninstalled and reinstalled quicksnip, it didn't help.

I uninstalled the dependency package, rebooted, uninstalled quicksnip, rebooted, reinstalled quicksnip, it didn't prompt to install the dependency package.

I manually installed the dependency package from the link on page 2. I uninstalled and reinstalled quicksnip.

And now it works! Finally! Quicksnip is version 1.1.8.0 and the dependency package is 1.5.23.0.

So the trick is to uninstall both the dependency package and quicksnip, install the dependency package manually, then install quicksnip again.
