Is there Firewire in the W520 Laptop?

[ Edited ]

Hi There,

I want to buy the Thinkpad W520 Laptop because of the Adobe Premiere Mercury Engnie approved GPU. I need it for film making.

To plug in the camera I need firewire.

> Has snybody experiences with the W520 as editing machine?

Thanks,

Cyrano

The W520 does have firewire. There's a mini firewire port next to the eSATA/USB port.

Really?

There is nothing about this in the paper:

But I can see the mini firewire port in the gallery pics right to the eSATA plug...hmm, so why don't they mention it?

Hi CyranoSP!

Looks like an omission. The FireWire port is also listed in the tabook.

Hope this helps!

I don't work for Lenovo. I'm a crazy volunteer!

There is a 4 port firewire. Which is not so useful as a 6 port one. You may need a firewire expresscard like this one: http://www.siig.com/it-products/firewire/firewire-400/expresscard/firewire-2-port-expresscard.html
