changes to power plan won't save

under power plan (maximum performance) I'm choosing under (closing the lid)  "do nothing"

I then click on "apply"  and then click on "Ok"

When returning to see if the changes were saved the "sleep"  is still there/.

OK I give.   Can someone recommend a power plan I can download and then get rid of this POS?

Thanks

Re: changes to power plan won't save

Try uninstalling Power Manager. It might be enforcing something it shouldn't.

Re: changes to power plan won't save

Thanks for the reply.   After uninstalling Thinkpad power manger under "control panel"  Is there a new application I can install?  something a bit simpler to configure or are you thinking that reinstalling the Lenovo product might function properly after a fresh install?

Thanks

Re: changes to power plan won't save

You can try reinstalling it and seeing if it works properly.

If all of your settings are set-up correctly, with no need for further intervention, then uninstalling Power Manager will preserve the settings, including power profiles and charging thresholds.

Re: changes to power plan won't save

forgive my rookieness.   I've uninstalled power manager and of course now there is no way to monitor battery condition or anyway to control standby or sleep functions.

How do I reinstall Power Manager?

I tried just minutes ago after updating PM to the latest version a few setting changes but still no chages will save.

Thanks for your help.

Re: changes to power plan won't save

HWMonitor will show battery condition.

Windows has a Power Options control panel which I believe offers most of the same functionality. Should be able to find it using Start search.

Here's the latest Power Manager though:

Re: changes to power plan won't save

OK, OK.    I did the Lenovo Tool box update and was recommended to install the newest PM.   I did a fresh install and tested  the "close the lid" do nothing.   Apply/Ok

Success it saved

Thanks for the advice.
