Left/Right test does not isolate the top and bottom speakers. So the windows sound setting test didn't really help.

But playing nature sounds, sounds like the top speakers do work but they are a lot quiter. Maybe this is how it is?

Why do models with Fibocom L860-GL WWAN come only with Core i7-8565U (4C / 8T, 1.8 / 4.6GHz, 8MB) and not with Core i7-8665U (4C / 8T, 1.9 / 4.8GHz, 8MB)"?  This one is based on filtering components in https://psref.lenovo.com/Product/Think_Tablets_and_Convertibles/ThinkPad_X1_Yoga_4th_Gen.

Used it for days now, on the road and at home. Not a single scratch so far, do you wear anything on your wrist? Also WWAN.

No, nothing on my wrists. Not sure what could have caused it. So I am making a guess it must be sensitive.

Let me know if you find anything.  Thanks.

Has anyone managed to find a non privacy screen protector for this machine?

Lots of people seem to be complaining about scratches on their X1 3rd Gen and c930s so I'm going to assume this screen will be scratch prone too.

Re: 2019 X1 Yoga 4th Gen discussion thread

Normally when I am done with the computer I just close the lid and it goes to sleep.  Last night I decided to press the power button and see what would happen when I woke the computer back up this morning (see if it was slower).  I woke up in the night and the power button instead of doing a slow pulse every few seconds was doing a constant blinking.  I covered the light up until this morning since it was so bright and annoying.  This morning when I opened the lid (the light was still blinking) the computer would not wake automatically like normal, it would not respond to any keyboard presses, and it would not respond to me pressing the power button or holding the power button for 5 seconds.

I searched online and it seems to be plenty of examples over the years with Lenovo laptops doing the same with different ideas and solutions.  I eneded up holding the power button for 10 or so seconds and the blinking stopped. I then pressed the power button and the computer started up normal and I've been using it without issue since.

Not sure if this was a one time thing but something I am going to keep an eye on.

I just did the experiment and sure enough, mine does the same thing. Weird. I also tried it on my Huawei and it comes right back to life.

Read the manual. Newer x1 models have PCIe wwan and are always ready machine.  You need enable S3 state on BIOS to have sleep state.

Re: 2019 X1 Yoga 4th Gen discussion thread

Hi! I have couple of new X1Y4 ThinkPads (WWAN) and am wondering if what I see is right: When running Lenovo Diagnostics Tool (https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/thinkvantage_en/ldiag_4.29.0.30_windows_x64.zip) the FAN option is greyed out with a message "FAN - Not available". Can anyone check, please! The fan seems to be running really slowly/quietly (by listening) and doesn't change it's speed even during the processor stress test.

Btw, I haven't had any scratch issues with the palm rest...

Using CPU-Z to stress the CPU the fan starts noticeable at 95°C core temp by setting "best performance".

Setting to "lowest performance" the core is only at 60°C max, no fan on - so check if you tried "best performance" in the taskbar.
