Re: 2019 X1 Yoga 4th Gen discussion thread

So... it looks like the yoga is running now without any issue. Will see if this stays stable over the next weeks. Will report back in case there are some issues. In general I have the feeling, that the replaced battery lasts longer (i7 with 4k). I'm working now since 7h (unplugged) and still have 30% left.

Re: 2019 X1 Yoga 4th Gen discussion thread

Wow. I have 77% left and it says about 5 hours. I wonder if mine is defective. I thought the 4k screen was draining the battery, but didn't know it was abnormal. I was wondering a few things... What is the brightness that you have your screen set to? Also, do you have HDR on or off?

I've noticed that my battery doesn't always display an accurate measure of power. Sometimes it will show that it has 3 hours left and then I will check it again and it shows 4 hours. I've only had the machine for a few weeks and I find the battery power readings to be inconsistent. Did you experience this with the defective battery?

I lowered brightness on my screen and now it says about 7h left at 73%.

Looks like the Yoga is now available with 10th gen processors. It's one of the options on the site, but currently available only with the FHD model.

Thanks for the heads up, good to know. I see one model with a i7-10510U CPU.

Just to remind people, these so called "10th gen" CPUs are Intel's Comet Lake (marginal improvements over Whiskey Lake iirc), not Ice Lake, which would bring a huge improvement in Graphics performance.

Yes the X1 Yoga and the X1 Carbon are getting refreshes with the 10th gen Comet Lake processors but not the Ice Lake processors.

I have had similar issues. They exchanged the battery. Did you use a 3-party charger?

Re: 2019 X1 Yoga 4th Gen discussion thread

I've only used the charger that came with it. I'm now using a C2G docking station that I purchased from Lenovo, but the battery issues were there before I started using the docking station. I'd like to contact Lenovo to get the battery replaced but I was hesitant because I didn't want to send the old one in and wait for another one.  Did you have to send them the defective one before they replaced yours?

Ok thanks. Support is sending me the box to send back to them. Hopefully, I will get the same result as you.

Will Ice Lake come in too, is then the question?

Also, as per psref.lenovo.com/Product/Think_Tablets_and_Convertibles/ThinkPad_X1_Yoga_4th_Gen, there is no configuration that includes these 10th generation processors with a UHD display and (one of) the Fibocom WWAN module.
