6th Gen X1 Carbon disconnecting USB-C dock on high load

2018-11-14, 15:19 PM

I've noticed something interesting and irritating.  I do development work for wa living, and typically my X1 Carbon is plugged into a Plugable USB-C dock that provides power, keyboard, speakers, Ethernet, and an external monitor.

Today, I started compiling some code, and immediately my USB-C dock disconnects.  It comes back after a couple of seconds, but this happens every time I compile.  Does anybody have any thought as to why this is happening and how to fix it?

Same Issue here, I have the basic docking station, and it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting, with extreme overheating.

Hi there! Welcome to our forums community. Have you tried installing the firmware of the docking station. If not, you can refer to the website: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/, just provide the model or serial number of the docking station. Try running the update from the Lenovo Vantage app. Install all available updates then restart the computer. Update us how it goes.
